FC Barcelona to Host Historic Game at Upgraded Camp Nou over the weekend
Barcelona have announced their first game will take place at the partially upgraded Camp Nou this Saturday. The club will host the Bilbao team in the Spanish league 30 months following their departure for construction to commence.
“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”
The stadium will not be at full capacity with 45,401 fans will be allowed to watch under the licence granted. When completed, the Camp Nou is due to hold over 104,000 attendees, increasing from the former 99,000. Barça announced finished work included a new players’ tunnel plus modern locker rooms.
Stadium Testing
The club conducted an open training session on the home pitch in early November. Officials stated approval is being pursued from Uefa to host the next European match versus the German side in December at Camp Nou. Previous fixtures took place at the Olympic Stadium.
