Plane Transporting US Defense Secretary Forced to Touch Down in UK Due to Fracture in Windshield
An aircraft transporting the US defense secretary was compelled to make an unplanned landing in the Britain on Wednesday due to a fissure was identified in the aircraft's cockpit window, per an announcement which stated that Hegseth was safe.
"The jet landed following standard protocol and all individuals on the flight, among them Pete Hegseth, is safe," a spokesperson said in a public statement.
He was traveling back from a short visit to Brussels at the time.
This event isn't the first time that a US military aircraft carrying a senior official has experienced technical problems.
In a previous incident this year, a United States Air Force aircraft transporting Marco Rubio to the city in Germany was required to turn back to Washington DC after suffering a technical issue.
